51MoUs of $46b with China will bring economic stability in Pakistan: TDAP chief

KARACHI: The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) SM Muneer has said that the 51 Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) amounting to $46 billion would definitely bring economic stability in Pakistan and Chinese President visit to country will open doors of opportunities for the people and business community of Pakistan.

He expressed these views while addressing a luncheon reception given by former Vice-President FPCCI Zubair Tufail in his honour here on Thursday.

Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan, President FPCCI Mian Mohammed Idrees, Zubair Tufail and Gulzar Firoz, Navaid Bukhari, Salman Tufail, Parvaiz Tufail, Khalid Tawab, President KATI Rashid Ahmed Siddiqui, Yahya Polani, Muneer Sultan, Ikhtiar Baig, Mehtabuddin Chawla, Abdul Rahim Janu, Basheer Jan and others were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, CEO TDAP said that the agreements worth billions of dollar are goodwill gesture from Chinese government for the economic corridor and energy sector were a welcoming step and would bring economic prosperity.

“Now no one can stop Pakistan to become Asian Tiger, adding that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has played a very positive role for uplifting country’s economy”, he added.

He further said that the with the efforts of Pakistan Army and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif the law and order situation in the country, particularly in Karachi has been improved drastically and therefore the President of China and others countries are visiting Pakistan.

The President of FPCCI Mian Muhammed Idrees said that Chinese investment would bring prosperity in the country and will strengthen the relations between two countries and also helps in eradication of unemployment.

Prominent businessman Zubair Tufail said that laying of oil and gas pipeline from western China to Gwadar was included in the other projects and the agreements for cooperation in other fields till year 2030 will start new era of prosperity. The important projects with the help of China are lying of fiber optic cable, railway track road network, construction, energy, industrial park and agriculture also included in the projects.

Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan said that the business community should work together for the prosperity and development of the country, as Almighty Allah gives all resources to the country.
