KCTU to review industrial cluster development activity of Mysore

KARNATAKA: Karnataka Council for Technical Upgradation (KCTU) will review the progress of Mysore printers cluster, engineering cluster, auto cluster of Mysore and packaging cluster of Mandya district on April 24, said Mysore Industries Association.

Managing Director of KCTU, Bengaluru and Additional Director of State Industries and Commerce, Anil A Uppin will asses the delay in implementation of the cluster and interact with SPV members to take firsthand information from them to expedite the formation of cluster, it said.

All these clusters estimated cost is Rs15 crores out of which 80 per cent will be assisted by Ministry of MSME, Government of India and 10 per cent by Department of Industries and Commerce Government of Karnataka. The balance 10 per cent will be invested by SPV members.

District Industries Centre Joint Director M Shivashankar, Deputy Director MN Murulesh, Assistant Director Choudappa and President, MIA, P Vishwanath will participate in the review meeting.

Karnataka is among the top five industrial states in the country. The achievements of the state in promoting high-tech industries in key sectors like telecommunication, electronics, information technology, precision engineering, automobiles, readymade garments, bio-technology and food processing have been remarkable.
