KLIA Customs director Datuk Chik Omar Chik Lim said in the first case on April 5, a team of customs officers detained a Nigerian man and seized 2.49kg of methamphetamine worth RM474,050.

He said the drug was found hidden in the 25-year-old suspect’s specially-tailored jeans and trousers kept in his baggage at about 7.20am in KLIA.

“Investigations revealed the suspect was a student at a now-defunct private college in Kuala Lumpur.”

Chik Omar said in the second case about 11.20am on April 16, customs officers detained a 34-year-old Nigerian man and seized 1.33kg of methamphetamine hidden in food cans.

He added that the suspect was arrested at an apartment in Taman Sentosa, Klang after he had received a package from a courier company.

Initial investigations revealed the package was sent from Lagos, Nigeria, to the suspect who worked at an illegal automobile warehouse in Klang, Selangor.

Chik Omar said in the third case, believed to be related to the second case, a parcel sent from Dalhui Zhiou, China was seized from a courier service company in KLIA.

Nine of 25 pairs of sports shoes in the parcel contained methamphetamine weighing 1.710kg and worth about RM324,900.
