Pakistan regains confidence of int’l financial institutions: Dar

ISLAMABAD: Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has said that the country’s economy has been revitalised due to strong steps, efforts and reforms, carried out by the government.

He said this while talking to a delegation of Albaraka Islamic Bank in Islamabad. He said that Pakistan has regained the confidence of international financial institutions.

The Minister briefed the delegation about the government’s efforts for growth of Islamic banking in the country. He said there would be a gradual progression from conventional banking to Islamic banking in Pakistan. Dar also mentioned launching of Sukuk Bond in November last year describing it a great success.

Albaraka Islamic Bank Chairman Khalid Rashid Alzayani said that all Islamic banks desire to have their financial operations in Pakistan as they were encouraged by its tremendous economic turnaround. He said that the bank already had an exposure of $50 million to Pakistan.
