BEIJING: China Eastern Airlines plans to raise about 15 billion yuan (US$2.4 billion) in a private A-share offering to expand its fleet and repay loans, the Shanghai-based carrier said here the other day.
The carrier will spend 12 billion yuan to buy 23 aircraft including Airbus A321 and Boeing’s B737-800 and B777-300ER.
The airline’s net profit rose 45 percent to 3.4 billion yuan last year.
