SEOUL: LG’s Watch Urbane launched in South Korea on Friday, and the elegant new smartwatch doesn’t come cheap. According to ETNews the device costs $365, up significantly from the $300 G Watch R.

The metal smartwatch is available from three different Korean carriers, suggesting it could get a pretty big launch here in the U.S. as well. LG also confirmed that the device will expand to 13 more countries next week on April 28. Earlier this week, we learned the Watch Urbane is set to hit Google Play before the end of the month as well.

LG’s latest Android Wear device packs a quad-core Snapdragon 400 chip, a 1.3-inch P-OLED circular display, 512B of RAM, 4GB of storage, a 410mAh battery and a heart-rate monitor. It’s also the first smartwatch to take advantage of Google’s latest software update, which adds Wi-Fi support, gesture controls and Emojis.

The Watch Urbane is an impressive device, but it may be asking too much at $365. Hopefully the price comes down at least a little bit when it’s translated into U.S. dollars. Otherwise the company could have trouble competing with cheaper Android Wear alternatives or even the Apple Watch.
