SEOUL: South Korean stocks ended 0.1 percent lower Monday as renewed uncertainties over debt-stricken Greece weighed down on investor sentiment, analysts said. The South Korean won gained ground against the U.S. dollar.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) fell 2.26 points to 2,157.54. Trading volume was moderate at 386.14 million shares worth 6.11 trillion won (US$5.69 billion), with gainers outdoing decliners 552 to 264.
