MEXICO: As New Horizon starts to identify some prominent figures and areas in Pluto, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration has been thinking of their possible names as well. Last month, NASA announced that Pluto’s moon, Charon has a crater and that the dwarf planet has a mountain. The challenge is, what to name them?

With the probe getting closer to Pluto, scientists are thinking that they will be too busy analyzing data that New Horizon will be sending them hence they want the public to do the job of thinking of a unique name for whatever they will find in the dwarf planet.

Names that will be chosen by the space agency will be sent to the International Astronomical Union (IAU) for review.

The International Astronomical Union (IAU) has a strict policy when it comes to naming extraterrestrial objects hence you can send a name request like Bob or Eddie.
