Four ships carrying cement, coal and diesel reaches Pakistan

Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI:  Four ships carrying cement, general cargo, coal and diesel oil were berthed at Multi Purpose Terminal and FOTCO Terminal respectively, port sources said here Monday.

Two more ships carrying containers and furnace oil also arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was 75 percent at the port on Monday where a total eight ships namely Bux Contact, MSC Athos, Ikan Pandan, Kronos Island, Sky Mariner, V, Greenery Sea, Exquisite and MT. Al Soor II are currently occupying berths to load/ offload containers, cement, Gen. cargo, coal, rice, LNG and disesl oil respectively.

A cargo volume of 103112 tonnes comprising 57990 tonnes imports and 45122 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3399 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during the last 24 hours.
