Customs Intelligence Preventive lodges 22 FIRs , arrests 23 in nine months

LAHORE: Customs Investigation and Prosecution (I&P) Preventive Lahore lodged 22 FIRs and arrested 23 accused in various attempts to dump illegally imported mobiles, currency and drugs during July to March 2014-15.

According to official sources I&P registered 11 FIRs  at the airport against smugglers of mobile tablets and money launders.

The I&P lodged five FIRs against smugglers at the air fright unit against the accused involved in forged invoices while five FIRs were lodged against the smugglers of tyres and mobiles on the complaints of Anti-smuggling Organization Lahore Customs, the source told Customs Today.

I&P lodged one FIR against a drug runner, when he wanted to smuggle huge quantity of drugs to India, they added.
