FBR achieves 65.13pc target by collecting Rs 1,830b in first 9.5 months of FY 2014-15

LAHORE: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has collected Rs 1830 billion in the first nine and half months of Financial Year (FY) 2014-15,which is 65.13 percent of the set target of Rs 2810 billion for the current FY.

FBR collected 61.21 percent in direct taxes and 68 percent in indirect taxes in which 67.27 percent collected in sales tax, 60.46 percent in Federal Excise Duty (FED) and 75.85 percent collected in Customs duty.

AS per details, FBR set a target of Rs 2,810 billion of tax collection for the financial year of 2014-15, the  department has achieved 65.17 percent  to Rs 1830 billion in first nine and half months and to meet the allocated target FBR needed to collect Rs 980 billion in remaining 2.5 months.

Finance ministry after getting acceptance of loan installment decrease target from Rs 2810 billion to Rs 2691 billion after Which FBR needed to collect Rs 860 billion in remaining period of current financial year.

Target in direct taxes for current FY was Rs 1180 billion in which Rs 722 billion has been collected and Rs 1630 billion was set for indirect taxes in which only Rs 200 billion were achieved.

As per monthly details, in first month of FY 2014-15 FBR collected Rs 212 billion in which Rs 34 billion were related to direct taxes and Rs 90 billion to indirect taxes, Rs 69 billion to sales taxes, Rs 3 billion were related to excise and Rs 16 billion under the head of Customs duty.

In August Rs 178 billion has been collected in which 51 billion were achieved under the head of direct taxes and Rs 127 billion for indirect taxes in which Rs 69 billion were achieved for sales tax head, Rs 6 billion for Federal Excise Duty and Rs 21 billion for Customs duty.

In September, Rs 234 billion were collected in which 104 billion were included under the head of direct taxes and RS 130 billion for indirect taxes in which Rs 92 billion were related to sales taxes and Rs 11 billion to Federal Excise Duty and Rs 26 billion to Customs duty.

In October, Rs.183 billion has been collected in which Rs 67 billion were collected under direct taxes and Rs 115 billion under indirect taxes including Rs 79 billion for sales taxes Rs 14 billion for Federal Excise Duty and Rs 22 billion for Customs duties.

In November, Rs 180 billion were collected including Rs 65 billion in direct taxes and Rs 115 billion in indirect taxes including rs 83 billion in sales taxes Rs 10 billion in federal excise duty and Rs 21 billion in customs duties.

In December, 270 billion has been collected in which 137 billion were related to direct taxes and Rs 133 billion to indirect taxes including Rs 92 billion in sales taxes, Rs 13 billion in federal excise duty and Rs 27 billion in customs duty.

In January 2015, Rs 173 billion were achieved in which Rs 66 billion for direct taxes and Rs 107 billion for indirect taxes including Rs 13 billion for sales taxes, Rs 11 billion for federal excise duty and Rs 23 billion were collected under the head of Customs duty.

In February, Rs 192 billion has been collected in Which Rs 74 billion in direct taxes and Rs 118 billion in indirect taxes including Rs 82 billion in sales taxes Rs 13 billion in federal excise duty and Rs 22 billion in customs duty were collected.

In March, Rs 211 billion were gathered in which Rs 96 billion in direct taxes and Rs 115 billion in indirect taxes including Rs 73 billion in sales taxes, Rs 13 billion in federal excise duty and Rs 23 billion in Customs duty were generated.
