FICCI sets up special cell under SEDF to manage relief for Nepal quake

NEW DELHI: FICCI membership is enthusiastically contributing towards the relief measures for Nepal and areas affected by earthquake in India. “To streamline the process, FICCI under its Socio Economic Development Foundation (SEDF) has set up a special cell to manage the relief process”, said Dr. A.Didar Singh, Secretary General, FICCI. FICCI -SEDF is chaired by President, FICCI Dr. Jyotsna Suri.

“We are also working closely with SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, India Chapter in this process. Mr Vikramjit Singh Sahney, Chair, Advisory Council of SAARC CCI has extended his full support in mobilising resources for this important cause. FICCI is in the process of despatching the relief material to the disaster site with help of Government of India authorities. Several thousand bottles of water, blankets and food items have already been mobilized by FICCI membership. Like in the past, the disaster rehabilitation process this time as well will be chaired by Mrs Sudha Pillai, former member secretary, Planning commission
