Customs society leaves for relief work in Tharparkar

LAHORE: A team of Customs Health Care Society has left for Tharparkar to overcome epidemic diseases in the drought-affected areas.

The President of Customs Health Care Society, Additional Collector Dr Asif Jah has said that a relief convoy had also been sent to drought hit areas of Tharparkar along with this team. The team will visit the affected areas and distribute the basic amenities of life among drought victims, he added.

He said that the society will ensure medical assistance to 7,000 families. In addition to this, basic edibles worth one million rupees will be distributed among the people of the area. He said that people were suffering from various stomach diseases due to the shortage of safe drinking water.

He hoped that the team would be able to provide medical assistance to another 1000 families during its one week visit since it was well equipped.
