LAHORE: Lahore High Court has ordered the Pakistan Cricket Board to pay property tax of Rs 60m on Gaddafi Stadium. LHC has dismissed the petition by the board against levy of the tax by the excise department.

According to details Punjab government lawyer told the court during hearing that the PCB was using the Gaddafi Stadium for commercial purposes so property tax is essential to pay for it.

In his short verdict, Justice Ibad-ur-Rehman Lodhi ordered the PCB to immediately pay its due taxes.

PCB had challenged the Rs 60m tax notice by Punjab government in the LHC, citing the reason that the provincial government was not authorized to enforce tax on a sports field. Now on Wednesday Lahore Court has ordered PCB to pay property tax and dismissed the petition as well.
