NAB arrests owner of Royal Foundry on illegal utilization of electricity

PESHAWAR: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Wednesday arrested owner of Royal Foundry on illegal utilization of electricity in connivance with TESCO Officers for his steel furnace and causing loss of Rs 26.4 million to the government exchequer.

As per details the Royal Foundry is situated in Shahkas area of Khyber Agency (FATA) initially the case was taken-up by FIA but due to restricted jurisdiction in FATA the case was referred to NAB Authorities for further inquiry and probe.

NAB authorities constituted a technical Committee for establishment of the offence of electricity theft. During the course of inquiry it was revealed that the TESCO officials supplied electricity from the Grid Station meant for general consumer of FATA to the Royal Foundry for commercial purpose without any legal authority. The arrested accused, who is also the owner of the foundry Imran with other crony accused persons of TESCO caused Rs.26.4million loss to national exchequer, the initial inquiry revealed.

NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa produced the arrested accuse before the accountability court for obtaining his physical remand into NAB custody and expected more arrest in the case.
