Rawalpindi: Directorate of Intelligence seizes Rs 0.5m foreign origin goods

ISLAMABAD: In pursuance of information, the Anti-Smuggling Staff of Directorate of I&I-FBR Regional Office, Rawalpindi has seized the foreign origin goods worth of .5 million recovered from bus. Anti smuggling staff intercepted a bus bearing Registration No.Z-2410 G.T. Road near tall plaza Rawalpindi coming from Peshawar side. Thorough search of the bus was conducted in presence of witnesses and owners of the goods which led to the recovery of following foreign origin goods.

At the time of occurrence four persons claimed the ownership of above mentioned foreign origin smuggled goods. Therefore, the said recovered Foreign Origin misc. goods were seized under Section 168 of the Customs Act, 1969. After serving notice u/s 171 ibid. The CIF value of above said F/O smuggled non-duty paid goods comes to Rs. 500,000/.
