Chairman NAB reviews training plan for investigation officers

ISLAMABAD: Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Qamar Zaman Chaudhry on Thursday reviewed training plan for the newly recruited Investigation Officers, besides directing to expedite the work on the proper functioning of NAB Forensic LAB.

While chairing the meeting here at NAB headquarters, he said that training is an important aspect in the capacity building of all ranks of NAB as training is the cutting edge of effective job performance.

The chairman said that NAB has been assigned a major responsibility of eradicating corruption and corrupt practices from the country and bring the guilty to book. An effective execution of this mandate necessities professional competence of its human resource continuously, he added.

He said that NAB was a vibrant and a dynamic organization which recognizes the centrality of training as a tool of improvement and maintaining the quality of its manpower.

He said that a standardized syllabus for all investigation officers, refresher and capacity building courses need to be formulated to ensure quality and uniformity and it will help NAB in achieving standard application of SOPs, laws and rules.

He directed Director General Training and Research Division NAB to have close liaison with Police Training College Sihala for Investigator’s Basic Induction Course-VII (2015) for the Incoming Investigation Officers on modern lines during 2015.

He directed to put up report on the current status of establishment of NAB Anti-Corruption Training Academy on the pattern of Malaysian Anti- Corruption Academy (MACA) so that NAB may establish its own Anti-Corruption Training Academy in order to cater for Capacity Building Training needs of its Investigation Officers (IOs) and Prosecutors on modern lines continuously.

DG T&RD gave a presentation on the various training modules planned for 2015 for catering to training needs and capacity building of all NAB Investigation Officers during 2015.
