PBIT facilitates meeting of Chinese delegation with exporters

LAHORE: The Punjab Board of Investment & Trade (PBIT) facilitated a meeting of four-member Chinese delegation with the Mango exporters here on Friday.

The delegates were given a briefing regarding mango season, different kinds of mangoes, total production of mangoes in Pakistan and classified the quality of different mangoes. Three prominent types of export quality mangoes such as Sindhri, Chaunsa and White Chaunsa depending on the taste and preference around the globe were discussed.

Member of delegation, Chen Shee said that the mangoes required in China should be of 400 gram size, clean, unspotted and packed. He also informed that total demand of mangoes for China through this company is 800 tons (USD 2.5 million) in a season.

Mango exporters informed the delegates about the Global gap certified farms and the Hot Water Treatment processing units available in Punjab. They offered the delegates to see the mango orchards and processing units in order to see the facilities available in Punjab. The exporters ensured that they have capacity to export best quality fruits as per Chinese standards.

Participants of the meeting were Ms. Lubna Pathan DGPBIT, Chen Shee Mee Director, Ka Fuk Loi Fruit Industry Co Ltd, Mr. Huang, Mr. Ren, Dr. Suhail Saleem, Hasan RazaPresident Mango exporters Punjab, Kashif Akram Director Syed Traders and Farhan Abbas CEO Aims Association.
