NAIROBI: Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta increased the workers basic minimum salary by 12 percent.The President who presided over this year’s Labour Day cerebrations said the increment is in tandem with the country’s productivity in the past one year.
He observed that all workers require a good working environment, and that a favorable salary was one way of making the working conditions better.Earlier the Central Organization of Trade Union had requested the government of 20 percent raise.
