NEW YORK: A Macon drug dealer is sentenced for possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. The United States Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia says that 33 year old Victor Burnett was sentenced Thursday to serve 7 years in prison for possession with intent to distribute cocaine.
According to a U.S. Department of Justice media release, Burnett pleaded guilty to the charge on January 21, 2015.
As part of his plea agreement, he admitted that he had a cocaine supplier in Atlanta.
According to the news release, in 2012, surveillance officers observed Burnette as he traveled to Hartsfield International Airport in Atlanta and accepted a delivery of 1718 grams of powder cocaine which he then transported to Macon with the intent to distribute it.
A subsequent search of his vehicle revealed the cocaine and over $18,000 worth of cash inside, according to U.S. Attorney Michael Moore.
Burnett’s arrest was the result of a joint investigation between agents with the Georgia Bureau of Investigations, Drug Enforcement Administration and U.S. Postal Inspection Services.
