SYDNEY: The Australian dollar strengthened against the other major currencies in the Asian session on Tuesday.
The Australian dollar rose to 4-day highs of 0.7857 against the U.S. dollar, 94.32 against the yen and 1.4186 against the euro, from yesterday’s closing quotes of 0.7836, 94.13 and 1.4220, respectively.
Against the New Zealand and the Canadian dollars, the aussie edged up to 1.0411 and 0.9515 from yesterday’s closing quotes of 1.0395 and 0.9475, respectively.
If the aussie extends its uptrend, it is likely to find resistance around 0.80 against the greenback, 96.00 against the yen, 1.36 against the euro, 1.06 against the kiwi and 0.97 against the loonie.
