LWMC starts 12-month-long cleanliness drive in city

LAHORE: The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has started 12-month-long cleanliness drive across the city.

The drive will cover all the main areas of the city, including Town Hall, Sabza Zar, Canal Bank Square, Mohni Road and Raiwind Main Bazar, engaging concerned political leaders, social-cultural icons, local residents and youth at large.

Holding of walks, setting up of camps, public briefing, pamphlets distribution; cleanup operations at sore areas, cultural & heritage places, vegetables & fruits markets and plot clearance were major components of LWMC’s campaign.

Central drive was carried out at Town Hall, Mall Road by holding an awareness walk lead by MPA Majid Zahoor, Senior Managers LWMC Suhail Malik, Asif Iqbal, Head of Communication Department Jamil Khawar and Turk Company Albayrak’s Senior Manager Operations Hussain Kartal.

Participants of all activities swept their areas suing brooms and pledged to play a practical role to maintain clean environment with the help of sanitation staff.
