ASO Hyderabad seizes smuggled items worth Rs29.8 million in April

Hyderabad:  Model Customs Collectorate Hyderabad’s Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) confiscated smuggled items worth Rs29.81 million involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs11.35 million in April-2015.

As per detail, Anti-Smuggling Organization Hyderabad impounded various vehicles including two Toyota Hilux, one Toyota Prado, Toyota Land Cruiser, Toyota jeep Toyota Hiace and two oil tankers loaded with smuggled diesel.

ASO also seized smuggled cloth, smart cell phones, LED TVs and 120,000 liters smuggled High Speed Diesel (HSD) worth millions of rupees during said period of current fiscal year 2014-15.

Talking to Customs Today ASO officials said that organization was struggling by adopting effective measures to curb the menace of smuggling in the region.
