Around 1500 PRAL employees deprived of their monthly salary

KARACHI: The staffers of PRAL Department are deprived of their monthly salary of March, 2014.

The sources in PRAL Department informed Customs Today that around 1500 employees of the Department have not yet received their salary. They further informed the PRAL staffers are facing acute problems due to the non-payment of the salary, as their daily affairs have been affected badly.

When contacted, the senior management of PRAL informed this scribe that the Accountant General Pakistan Revenues (AGPR) has put an objection on PRAL salary account. But he failed to inform about the nature of the objection placed by the authorities concerned of AGPR. It is pertinent to mention here that an office boy of Grade 1 in PRAL Department had committed suicide by inhaling some poisonous substance recently due to non-payment of salary.
