WARSAW: Nederlandse Spoorwegen Dutch railway company has ordered 58 Stadler FLIRT units which will be manufactured at the Stadler Polska plant based in Siedlce (Podlaskie voivodeship), domestic media reported. The deal is valued at €280, around PLN 1 billion.
FLIRT units will be used by high speed municipal railways and regional services throughout the Netherlands. The trains have to be completed by the end of next year. “I am very proud that our plant in Siedlce will carry out this prestigious order. This is a great success for us,” Christian Spichiger, the chief executive of Stadler Polska.
Stadler FLIRT (Fast Light Innovative Regional Train) is an electric multiple unit (EMU) produced by Stadler Rail AG.
