LAHORE: Pakistani imports from India through Wagah border has decreased to Rs591 million during last 15 days of April-2015 against the import of Rs1.88 billion during same period of last month, March.
Pakistani imports from India cut by Rs1.29 billion in last fifteen days of the April as compared to the last fifteen days of March for the fiscal year of 2014-15.
As per available documents, Pakistan imported garlic, polyethylene, cotton, poly propylene, carbon dioxide, rolling machinery and other items from India.
Pakistan has banned the import of tomatoes from India during these days while in the same period of March tomatoes of Rs280 million had been imported. Trade of tomatoes has been suspended due to its bad effects on human health.
Pakistan has imported 5,568,070 kg soya and other relevant products from India. Total value of the imported soya or its products is stands at Rs14.4 million.
Pakistan imported polyethylene, poly propylene and other relevant items like synthetic materials worth Rs175 million.
Pakistan also imported cotton, cotton yarn and other relevant items from India worth in millions. Pakistan has imported cotton yarn worth Rs15 million in last 15 days of the April.
Pakistan also imported machinery of different sorts worth Rs6 million from India during same period of time.
Besides all of this, Pakistan has imported carbon dioxide, machinery and number of other items from India through Wagah border trade route.
As a whole, Pakistan imported Rs591 million worth goods from India from 16 April to 30th April 2015.
