RAWALPINDI: The contractors of Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus Project have been directed by the Punjab government to complete work by Saturday (May 9)
Sources said that the new deadline may compromise the quality of work on the multi-billion project, connecting the twin cities. Work on none of the stations on the 23 kilometre long track could be completed and testing for being earthquake resilient, spadework on tracks and drainage is yet to be conducted.
The claim of completion of work from Saddar to Marrir Chowk remain a big question where manholes are yet 1to be covered, while work on drainage system from Marrir Chowk to Liquat Bagh has been partially finished.
However, the Rawalpindi Development Authority director said that the quality work will not be compromised and the deadline will be met at any cost.
