Customs Central Region duty collection up by 9% to Rs29.5 billion in 10 months

LAHORE: Customs Central Region has collected Rs29. 5 billion customs duty with an increase of 9 percent in first 10 months of current financial year 2014-15 as compared to Rs27 billion collected during the same period of the corresponding year.

According to details, Appraisement Lahore collected Rs14.502 billion as customs duty, up 14 percent as compared to the Rs12.755 billion during the same period of last year.

On the other hand, Preventive Lahore collected Rs6.906 billion with an increase of 53 percent compared to Rs4.510 billion during the same period of last year.

The Model Collectorate of Customs (MCC) Multan, however, could collect only Rs6.538 billion while it had collected Rs 8.334 billion during same corresponding period of last year.

The MCC Faisalabad also showed growth of 3 percent collecting Rs1.575 billion during first 10 months of current fiscal year against Rs1.527 billion during said period of last year.

The region, however, lost the target by 14 percent while MCC Lahore Preventive exceeded the target by 21 percent overall.
