NEW DELHI: BlackBerry is thinking of introducing its virtual SIM solution to India later this year and if it manages to do so, users will be able to have multiple numbers without the need for more than one SIM card. The Canadian company is currently in talks about bringing the technology into the country so there’s nothing definite as yet as to when it will be available.

BlackBerry’s virtual SIM solution came to fruition through its acquisition of Movirtu back in 2014. The main benefit of this technology is that users will no longer need to maintain different numbers for personal and work purposes. In fact, a single SIM card can hold as many as 9 different numbers.

What’s more, BGR India is reporting citing PTI as its source that customers with multiple numbers will be billed for voice, data and messaging usage separately and for each account as well. And switching between different profiles is also said to be a simple task.
