ASO impounds three trucks of smuggled goods

KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Preventive Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) in its recent action has impounded three trucks of Afghan Transit Trade (ATT).

According to details, the ASO team on credible information impounded the three trucks containing cosmetics, perfumes and toileteers which were bound to Karachi from Quetta.

Sources said that the ASO-MCC Preventive after confiscating the trucks took those to Custom House Karachi, adding that the inventory of the seized goods was being prepared by the ASO staffers.

They further revealed that the confiscated smuggled goods have marks of ATT.

Responding to a query, sources further said that the total amount of the confiscated goods could not be ascertained while the Collector MCC Preventive, Syed Muhammad Tariq Huda would hold a press conference regarding the said seizure in upcoming days.
