Seema Raza Bukhari reserves decision in TCS, Smart Zone smuggling case

ISLAMABAD: Directorate General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Adjudication Collector Seema Raza Bukhari has completed the hearing of Courier Company TCS and Smart Zone in smuggling case and reserved the decision.

According to details Seema Raza Bukhari heard the TCS and Smart Zone smuggling case and reserved the decision. During the hearing, the Smart Zone Company submitted 23 GDs before the court on which the adjudication collector asked the company to submit the list of items according to these GDs but the company failed to do it.

Meanwhile Deputy Director Customs Intelligence Shahid Jan told Adjudication Collector that the said GDs have been used in Lahore and submitted the Lahore Customs report about the said GDs on which the company showed stance that Customs Intelligence did not reconcile the said report with them. But the Customs Intelligence said that they reconciled the said report and GDs with them.

Adjudication Collector asked the Smart Zone Company to submit the proof of legal import of those items before the court but the Smart Zone Company failed to submit the proof.

Customs Intelligence told the court that they will provide another chance to reconcile that GDs on May 15.

Adjudication Collector heard arguments from both side and reserved the decision which may be announced next week.

It is also pertinent to mention here that the Customs Intelligence also requested before the court that court should order seizure of TCS Rawalpindi Godwon and charge fined 10% of total cost.
