Customs Intelligence seizes smuggled goods worth Rs 35 million

LAHORE: Customs Intelligence and Investigation Lahore seized illegally imported special timber, auto parts and 54 tyres worth Rs 35 million here on Thursday.

Sources told Customs Today that Customs I&I team following the instructions of Additional Director Mohsin Rafique and Saad Atta Rabani intercepted two trucks on different roads in Lahore.

They informed that a truck bearing registration No.TKF/870 was coming from Quetta loaded with illegal tyres and auto parts when the Customs I&I seized the truck following the truck drivers failed to produce customs clearance documents.

In another raid the Customs I&I under the supervision of Customs Superintendent Nasir Minhas and Munawar Khan seized a truck loaded with timber worth Rs1.5 million at the motorways, sources said.
