Legislators to be taken into confidence on CPEC, Asif assures National Assembly

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Water and Power, Khawaja Asif on Monday assured the National Assembly that legislators would be completely taken into confidence on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and their concerns, if any, would be removed.

The government has convened a meeting to know the concerns of political parties over CPEC, he said while responding to a point of order in National Assembly here.

He also rejected any possibility in changing of route in line with Pak-China Economic Corridor.

He said that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif assured that no changes in the CPEC route will be made.

He said it was the policy of government to connect maximum regions of the country through quality of roads for development of the country. The CPEC would prove to be a lifeline for the country.

While, Leader of the Opposition, Syed Khursheed Ahmad Shah talking about construction of Motorway from Gwadar to Kashghar, demanded of the government to restore former route of motorway for the best interest of the country.
