MANILA: Joint operatives of the PNP’s Task Force Pantalan and the Bureau of Customs seized a trailer truck containing illegally imported sugar misdeclared as school supplies in Navotas City.
Authorities intercepted the truck while conducting clearing operations against illegally parked trailer trucks on R-10 road.
The driver who presented documents that described the truck’s contents as school supplies, plastic envelopes, and plastic covers admitted the cargo contained sugar that came from China.
The BoC for its part confirmed the contents to be sacks of refined sugar. The truck and its cargo were brought to the Manila Police District for proper disposition.
