SEOUL: South Korean stocks surged 0.88 percent on robust foreign buying Wednesday, extending their winning streak to a third consecutive session, analysts said. The local currency dropped against the U.S. dollar.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) jumped 18.69 points to 2,139.54. Trading volume was moderate at 441.5 million shares worth 6 trillion won (US$5 billion), with gainers and decliners ending on par at 400 each.
