CNG association seeks equal tax rate for all sectors

LAHORE: Chairman All Pakistan CNG Association, Ghayas Paracha urged the government to impose tax on compressed natural gas (CNG) sector as same rate is imposed on other sectors.

Pracha said that an increase in rate of taxes, gas and electricity was putting burden over the CNG sector leading to the destruction of the sector.

He said that most of the CNG filling stations were closed due to unfriendly policies of the government, adding that continuity in such policies would discourage the investors.

He suggested that government should treat CNG sector equally like the other sectors of the country. He also termed the proposed Gas Infrastructure Development Cess as threat to the gas sector.
