SINGAPORE: THE Straits Times Index (STI) opened higher on Thursday, up 0.41 point or 0.01 per cent to 3,440.09 as at 9am, after Wall Street finished mostly lower on Wednesday despite a short-lived jump that came when the Federal Reserve’s policy meeting minutes cast doubt on an interest rate hike in June.

The most active stocks out of the gate included China New Town (up 0.1 cent to S$0.087), Stratech Group (down 0.2 Singapore cent to S$0.042) and Jaya Holdings (0.2 Singapore cent to S$0.049).
