K-Electric removes 7,500 hook connections in 72 raids

KARACHI: Karachi Electric officials, during their Operation Burq against the defaulters and power thieves, have conducted 72 raids along with the Federal Investigation Authority (FIA), police and Rangers in different areas of the metropolis.

The company, in an official statement said that the KE team took stringent disciplinary action against the offenders and removed almost 7,500 illegal connections from areas, including Defence, Clifton, Liaquatabad, Gulshan, Johar, Bin Qasim, Gadap, Malir, Korangi and Sindi Muslim, whereas some defaulters and thieves belonging to some commercial markets were also taken in custody.
