SEOUL: LG has introduced the first two variants of its new flagship, the G4 Stylus and the G4c. Presented at the end of April and already available in several Asian countries, the LG G4 is the most spectacular smartphone sold by the South Korean company. It comes with a super clear 5.5in Quad HD IPS Quantum Display (2,560 x 1,440), 3GB RAM, an NFC chip, 32GB of space (more with a microSD card) and runs on Qualcomm’s 1.8GHz six-core Snapdragon 808 processor.

It also features 16- and 8-megapixel rear and front cameras, respectively. It keeps the autofocus laser that debuted on the G3, which precisely calculates the depth of field to perfectly focus each shot.

The G4 operates using Android Lollipop, enhanced with a customised interface, the UX 4.0. Pricing in France will start at €649 (RM2,610) and US$650 (RM2,350) in the US.

Two versions but with similar tech specs

With less impressive characteristics, the G4 Stylus and G4c are being touted as more affordable versions of the same phone. The first stands out with its big screen (5.7in) and its stylus, while the second is a more compact version (5in).

With its size and stylus, the LG G4 Stylus is positioning itself to rival the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. And though its specs indicate it is less powerful – with a screen of only 1,280 x 720 pixels, a four-core processor running at 1.2GHz, 8GB of space, 1GB of RAM, as well as rear and front cameras of 13- and 5-megapixels respectively the affordable price does make it an attractive option.

Apart from having an 8-megapixel main camera, the 5in LG G4c has the same specs as the G4 Stylus.

Both phones are 4G compatible, use Android Lollipop and offer expandable storage space. LG has yet to confirm their price or release dates.
