CAPE TOWN: ALTRON announced yesterday that Craig Venter has decided to leave the company as group executive for Altron TMT. He will also step down from his position as Altech chief executive as well as from his Altron directorships, effective July, 31.
The company said it was transitioning from a family-managed business to an independent management structure. “The Venter family will remain a committed shareholder and will retain its 56 percent shareholding in Altron,” it said. Altron TMT Group includes the Altech and Bytes group of companies.
Venter said he planned to stay involved in the business and play more of an oversight role for the family’s investments. Allied Electronics’ shares fell 1.08 percent to R13.80 on the JSE while Allied Electronics N-shares fell 2.05 percent to R13.41.
