Multan Excise seizes heroin, charas ‏

MULTAN: The Excise and Taxation Department has seized 4.5 kilogram heroin and one kilogram charas during a operation against drug smugglers in the city.

Sources told Custom Times that Director Excise and Taxation Department Multan Jam Siraj formed special teams to check illegal activities in the city.

According to details, Excise and Taxation Officer Malik Jalilur Rehman raided near the Pul Seedaa Wali and a police constable was also found involved in the smuggling of heroine. Excise squad was taking action against the smugglers with the assistance of Gulgasht Police Multan.

Excise and Taxation Officer along with Assistant Excise and Taxation Officer Tariq Bhatti and Inspector Sheikh Zaman were monitoring the movement of drug smugglers in the region on special information.

Drug traffickers were trying to supply drugs containing heroine of 4.5 kilograms and one kilogram Charas in the location of Multan. Excise and Taxation Squad thwarted the efforts of drug smugglers.

Excise and Taxation Department arrested two drug smugglers red handed in the raid and after that it was revealed that one of the arrested smugglers belongs to Police Head Constable. Police Head Constable Rab Nawaz and Rafiq were arrested on charges of smuggling heroin and Charas. A pistol was also recovered from them during the raid.
