Google Chrome is facing malware issue

NEW YORK: Despite Google being the top company as far as the internet and technology are concerned, this company’s web browser, Google Chrome, is not any different from any other web browser, when it comes to being attacked by malwares or rather, being targeted by malware. If you are a regular PC user, you must have already known that most malicious installations take place through browser extensions. There are numerous types of malware, adware and spyware programs on the web and what happens is that these application programs will take advantage of any hole in your web browser or PC in general and find their way in.

After successfully finding its way into your PC, usually, this program will integrate itself into your web browser as an extension. For the common user, all you see is a Google search bar when you launch a page, however, behind the scenes there are lots of things going on, most of which will lead to even further malware problems. Unless the software extensions are manually uninstalled and disabled, getting rid of these apps is very hard. This will no longer be your concern as the latest version of Google Chrome will be taking care of everything as far as blocking these extensions is concerned.

Enhanced security when browsing on Chrome

The ability to block unrecognized extensions is probably the best feature Google has added to the Chrome web browser. Just recently a new Password Alert extension was launched, which warns Google users against providing their password on non-Google pages when browsing. Now that Google has launched a new feature, the security of browsing will be much better than before.

At the time of this writing, this feature is only available for Windows users; however, the developers of this application have confirmed that it will soon be available on Mac. According to Google, Chrome will work independently and it will take over the duties of determining which extensions to block, including those not available in the Web store. What this means is that Google will easily stop malware from entering your PC, which keeps the device safer and performing optimally.

Google revealed that about three quarters of the calls they receive on their help desk are associated with browser extensions that take control of users’ browsers. This new ability will help a lot in curbing such issues; which is why it is expected that other web browsers that use add-ons and extensions follow suit and do the same. When Microsoft Edge comes in with Windows 10, the browser war will be taken to the next level as this browser is touted to be the best with its new, nifty features. It is time Firefox and Opera did something better with their platforms; otherwise, they will have a lot to do before catching up.
