New judge of Customs  Court Rawalpindi will take charge on 28th

LAHORE: Rana Aftab Ahmad Khan will assume the charge of his new assignment as judge of Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling on Thursday, May 28, 2015.

Rana Aftab Ahmad, who was working in Samundri, Faisalabad, as additional session judge, will hear the bail plea of Ayyan Ali that is being adjourned from the last 8 hearings.

Ayyan Ali was presented before the court eight times but every time her bail plea was suspended until the next hearing.

The Lahore High Court (LHC) issued a notification to appoint Rana Aftab Ahmad Khan as judge of the Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling on April 29, and after completion of his training on customs, he will assume the charge on May 28.

The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling is hearing the case of supermodel Ayyan Ali, and the case is getting more important as names of some political entities are being associated with this case of illegal transfer of currency through the celebrity.
