SBI to stage livestock, fisheries, agri exhibition

KARACHI: The Sindh Board of Investment (SBI) is organising the fifth edition of Livestock, Dairy, Fisheries, and Agriculture Exhibition (LDFA- 2015) in collaboration with the Agriculture and Livestock Department.

Director General, SBI, Muhammad Riazuddin at a press briefing here on Tuesday announced that the exhibition will be held from May 30 to 31 at Expo Centre, Karachi.

He said that LDFA 2015 focused to target corporate sector, technological solutions, growers/ farmers, investors and diplomatic missions to promote investment in agriculture sector as a large proportion of Pakistan and Sindh’s economy is directly and indirectly linked with the agriculture sector. It provides 45% of employment to our labour force and contributes 21% in GDP of the country.

This year, he said LDFA is expected to attract a lot more participants and visitors including diplomats, foreign and domestic businessmen and investors, banking and investment professionals, representatives of federal and provincial government ministries and departments.

He also mentioned some keys facts about the companies, exhibitors participating this year in the exhibition, that is, 24 of them promoting exotic birds, 21 agriculture companies, 14 international companies and banks, 14 companies of dairy and livestock , nine companies in poultry and fisheries and two diplomatic missions. Besides, a number of foreign investors, foreign companies, and international agriculture experts are expected to participate in LDFA-2015.
