LCCI president meets Customs chief to enhance cooperation

LAHORE: Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Sohail Lashari met central region’s Chief Collector of Customs Rozi Khan Burki in order to enhance mutual liaison between business community and Pakistan Customs.

Both Lashari and Burki agreed to draw plan to facilitate importers and discourage menace of smuggling.

Lashari demanded of Chief Collector to ensure complete facilitation for the genuine importers and give them time in case any genuine importer fails to produce documents at the spot.

He complained that on one hand the government talks of increasing revenues while on the other hand genuine importers are being harassed and in such circumstances government’s dreams to establish economic stability cannot come true. Meanwhile, he pledged all the cooperation on part of business community to overcome the evil of smuggling.

Chief Collector Rozi Khan Burki welcoming the President Sohail Lashari assured full cooperation of customs with the business community of the city.

Rozi Khan while assuring his support for genuine importers said that liaison between the business community and Pakistan Customs has immense importance and the mutual understanding between the stakeholders can tackle many issues related to trade and industry.
