Hyderabad ASO seizes 54,000 litres of smuggled diesel

HYDERABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organisation Hyderabad has seized 54,000 litres of Iranian diesel, besides impounding oil tanker being used for supplying the diesel.

As per details, an ASO team, following the instructions of Collector Model Customs Collectorate Hyderabad, Ahmad Mujtaba Memon, conducted a raid near Qazi Ahmad District to foil the smuggling of diesel.

The ASO team comprising Superintendent Nadeem Usmani, Deputy Superintendent Sikandar Akbar Pahnwar, Inspector Momin Shah and Seizing officer Khair Muhammad Pathan intercepted an oil tanker bearing registration No. TLQ-554 and recovered 54,000 litres of Iranian diesel.

The team asked the driver to produce any legal documents for the import of diesel but he could not do so due to not having relevant documents on which ASO seized the diesel. The market value of the seized diesel is Rs 4.16 million.
