Japanese Ambassador pledges to continue supporting Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Japanese Ambassador to Pakistan Hiroshi Inomata has said that his country enjoys good relations with Pakistan and will continue to support Pakistan in development process.

He said many Japanese companies are interested in investment in Pakistan’s energy sector. The ambassador said that in recent years, Japan assisted Pakistan in different projects including disaster management.

About bilateral trade and business ties, he said the meeting of Pak-Japan Business Forum (PJBF) will be held later this year. He praised Pakistan as a brave nation that is valiantly confronting the menace of terrorism and has offered many sacrifices in fight against terrorism.

He said that some 5,000 Pakistanis have been trained under JICA programme.

The ambassador said that Japan is assisting Radio Pakistan in transition of its transmitters from analogue to digital technology and the project will be completed by September this year. He said it will benefit a large number of the people especially in FATA and Gilgit-Baltistan to receive quality broadcast.
