OTTAWA: Gatineau Police have arrested two men in connection with a weapon importing case, including a stun gun they allege was to be sold on the black market.

Five “firearm type” handguns — some of which were handmade, a small amount of marijuana, several gun parts, ammunition of various kinds and three cell phones were all seized by police on Thursday around 11:45 a.m. during a search of an Aylmer apartment.

The two men, one 18, the other 21, are both from Gatineau and face several charges relating to importation and possession of prohibited weapons.

And it was a team effort to catch the pair.

The Canada Border Services Agency tipped Gatineau Police to help with the arrests.

Police say the investigation began after the CBSA intercepted “a parcel” containing a stun gun at customs heading to Gatineau coming from the United States.

CBSA alerted Gatineau Police which led to a search warrant being executed.

The 18-year-old was held in custody while the 21-year-old was released on a promise to appear.
