BUDAPEST: Hungarian condiments producer Univer Product installed a HUF 620 million biomass furnace at its plant in Kecskemét, central Hungary, the company said yesterday. The investment was supported with a HUF 307 million European Union and state grant.
The wood chip-fuelled furnace is expected to cut Univerʼs annual CO2 emissions by 3,000 tons. Univer had after-tax profit of HUF 804 million on revenue of HUF 17.7 billion last year, public records show. Univer sells 85% of its products in Hungary.
