In the beginning of the implementation of the National Action Plan, real estate dealers refused to get their businesses registered due to the registration charges in Multan, but after the awareness campaign launched by the City District Government and the Excise Department, they started getting the businesses registered.

The Property Dealers Association has also played a vital role in the implementation of the National Action Plan, in which no property will be given on rent without the registration details of tenants to avoid any untoward situation.

Property dealers have paid Rs 10, 000 for the registration of their businesses and 10,000 fee was charged as security.

According to the Excise and Taxation Department Multan, there were almost 2,000 property dealers are operating in the city and still a large number of property businesses is unregistered. Due to the registration of property businesses in Multan city, revenue of the Excise and Taxation Department will also increase because all the property dealers will come into the tax net of the Excise Department.

Due to non-cooperation of property dealers with the Excise and Taxation Department, the process of registration is slow-moving. Moreover, as many as 116 property dealers’ registration applications are under process.

Multan Excise and Taxation Director Jaam Siraaj has decided to take stern action against unregistered property dealers in Multan. He has warned them that they must get themselves registered at the earliest; otherwise all the businesses of non-registered property dealers will be sealed very soon.
